In this episode of Conversations with Bizzy, I’m sharing all about my son’s engagement party—what a beautiful, drama-free, and joy-filled celebration it was! The weather was spectacular, the energy was amazing, and the best part? No chaos. No one got crazy. My ex-husband, my husband, and I were all there—all sober—and it really got me thinking about how sobriety has changed not just my life, but the example I’ve set for my kids.

I’ll be talking about:

  • How sobriety has transformed the way I show up for my family.

  • The shift I see in younger generations and their relationship with alcohol.

  • Why life doesn’t have to be traumatic or chaotic to be memorable.

  • The power of trusting God and knowing it’s all going to work out.

Sobriety has given me so many gifts—being present, celebrating milestones without regret, and truly living in the moment. If I were still drinking, I wouldn’t be here, reaching my goals, creating these incredible memories. And here’s the truth: faith and fear can’t exist in the same moment.

Join me as I dive into the beauty of celebrating without alcohol, embracing joy, and trusting the process. It’s time to celebrate them, not me!

Hey everyone, welcome back to Conversations with Bizzy! In this episode, I had the pleasure of sitting down with MJ Gottlieb, the co-founder of the Lucid app — a fantastic platform that’s creating a safe space for sober individuals to date, connect, and thrive.

MJ’s been sober for almost 13 years, and hearing his story was so inspiring. We talked about the challenges of dating in recovery, the stigma that still surrounds sobriety, and how Lucid is helping break down those barriers by supporting a community where authenticity and meaningful connections can flourish.

What really struck me was MJ’s passion for building a space that prioritizes both safety and inclusivity. With over 160,000 members in the sober dating section alone, Lucid is making waves. He shared some amazing success stories of people finding love — it was so heartwarming.

I also learned about the complexities of building a dating app (way more than I realized!), especially when it comes to creating a user-friendly experience while keeping the community safe and verified. It’s clear MJ and his team are deeply committed to protecting and empowering the sober community.

Here’s What We Covered:

  • MJ’s personal journey with nearly 13 years of sobriety

  • Why he started Lucid and how it’s supporting the sober community.

  • The rising popularity of niche dating apps

  • How sobriety stigma can hold people back from finding love

  • The importance of safety and verification on the Lucid platform

  • Heartwarming stories of real-life matches

I loved this conversation and I think you will too. Whether you're sober yourself, curious about niche dating apps, or just love hearing inspiring stories, there’s something here for everyone.

Thanks for listening and remember — love and connection are always possible, especially when we show up as our authentic selves.Bottom of Form

Hey everyone, welcome back to Conversations with Bizzy! Today, I’m reflecting on something near and dear to my heart — Valentine’s Day. Having celebrated 56 of them, I’ve seen this holiday through so many different lenses: from the childhood excitement of exchanging little cards at school, to the pressures and complexities of adult relationships.

Valentine’s Day can bring up a lot of emotions — joy, love, sometimes even loneliness or frustration. But one thing I’ve learned over the years is that love shows up in many forms, not just in romantic relationships.

I also share a bit of history about how Valentine’s Day evolved from ancient rituals to the holiday we know today, complete with chocolates, roses, and sometimes, a little stress! But whether you're partnered, single, or somewhere in between, this day can be a beautiful reminder to celebrate all kinds of love — love for family, friends, and most importantly, yourself.

Here’s What We Chat About:

  • How Valentine’s Day has changed for me over the years

  • Childhood memories of inclusive Valentine's traditions

  • Why adult Valentine’s Day can sometimes feel performative or pressured

  • The importance of staying hopeful and open-minded when searching for love

  • How patience and resilience can lead to meaningful connections

  • Why love is not just about romance — it’s about connection in all forms

This episode is really about embracing love in its many shapes and sizes and reminding ourselves that connection is always possible. So whether you're spending this Valentine's Day with a partner, family, friends, or just treating yourself, I hope this conversation encourages you to appreciate all the love in your life.

Thanks for listening, and Happy Valentine’s Day, my friends! ❤️

What does it really mean to be successful? In this inspiring episode, Joseph Marino shares his powerful journey of sobriety, healing, and self-discovery. From breaking free of societal expectations to finding peace beyond the chaos of addiction, Joseph reflects on the challenges he faced, the evolution of his marriage, and the importance of rigorous honesty in building meaningful relationships.

He talks about leaving behind a high-stress corporate career to pursue a life centered on authenticity, health, and inner peace — even when it meant stepping into uncertainty. Joseph shares how faith and a blue rosary became guiding symbols of strength and trust in the journey.

If you’re on your own journey of healing, growth, or searching for inner peace, this episode offers wisdom, encouragement, and the reminder that you are never alone.

Here are a few key takeaways from Joseph’s experience:

·  Authenticity is essential for personal growth.

·  Sobriety may feel uncomfortable at first, but it leads to peace and clarity.

·  Friendships can shift when you get sober, but that’s a natural part of the process.

·  Communication is key to maintaining healthy relationships, especially during recovery.

·  Rigorous honesty fosters trust and deeper connections.

·  Transitioning careers can be challenging but leads to self-discovery.

·  Community support is crucial for healing.

·  Prioritizing health and inner peace over material success brings lasting fulfillment.

·  Courage is essential when making life changes.

·  Spiritual symbols can provide comfort and guidance.

My hope is that by sharing Joseph’s journey, others will find the courage to embrace their own uniqueness, trust in the process of recovery, and know they are never alone. We all have the potential for incredible beauty and growth.

Hey, it’s Bizzy! 🦅 This episode is all about emotions, sports, and the beautiful chaos of life. With the Super Bowl right around the corner, I’m beyond excited and cheering loud for the Eagles! (Fly, Eagles, Fly!) But beyond the game, I’m diving into something deeper:

💡 Feelings aren't facts. Trust me, I’ve had to learn this lesson the hard way. I talk about how society sends us all these mixed messages that mess with our heads and why having a strong connection to family and community makes all the difference.

I also introduce one of my favorite tools for checking your emotional state—HALT: Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. It’s wild how much those little things can throw us off balance.

Plus, I share simple tips like moving a muscle or shifting your thoughts to break out of negative spirals.

Most importantly, I want you to know: You are never alone.

I’d love to hear your thoughts—whether it’s about the game, life, or how you're navigating challenges. Reach out and let’s keep this conversation going.

In this episode, I talk about my journey of personal growth, sharing the ups and downs of dealing with unsolicited advice, judgment, and how we see ourselves. Life has a way of throwing challenges our way, but I’ve learned that these moments often hold the biggest lessons if we’re willing to embrace them.

Let’s be real—unsolicited advice can be annoying. But I’ve come to realize that it usually says more about the person giving it than it does about me. Judgment? Oh, that’s often just a reflection of someone else’s insecurities or shame. And when it comes to how we view others, it’s usually shaped by what’s going on inside us.

One of the things that helps me stay grounded is starting the day with prayer and mindfulness. It sets a positive tone and reminds me to stay open to life’s lessons—even the hard ones. Speaking of hard lessons, criticism used to sting, but now I see it as an opportunity to grow. Approaching feedback with an open mind has been a game-changer.

Asking for help? That used to be tough for me. I thought it made me weak. But guess what? It’s a sign of strength. We’re not meant to do life alone—everyone has their own journey, and we all deserve support along the way.

One of my biggest takeaways is this: life is about the journey, not just the destination. Embracing vulnerability has deepened my connections with others and strengthened my sense of self. Self-acceptance is key to finding true happiness.

Takeaways from this episode:

  • Unsolicited advice often reflects the giver's perspective.

  • Judgment from others can stem from their insecurities and shame.

  • How we perceive others is influenced by our internal state.

  • Prayer and mindfulness can set a positive tone for the day.

  • Criticism can be a tool for growth if approached with an open mind.

  • Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

  • Everyone has a unique journey and deserves support.

  • Life is about the journey, not just the destination.

  • Embracing vulnerability can lead to deeper connections.

  • Self-acceptance is crucial for personal growth and happiness.
