Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bermudez

I love when you meet someone new and there’s an instant connection. Well, that’s exactly what happened when I was invited to be a guest on the Busy Living Sober podcast. “Bizzy” has a way of making you feel like she’s known you for a lifetime. She doesn’t waste time with small talk - and gets straight to the good stuff. It’s rare to meet someone so open and honest who wants to share their own sobriety journey in hopes of helping and inspiring others.

Elizabeth is a positive force of nature. Her warmth, savvy and mere presence make you feel good in her company. This was one of my favourite podcasts to take part in and 100% worth a listen whatever your relationship with alcohol. Thoroughly recommended.

Being a guest on Elizabeth Chance's podcast, Busy Living Sober, was an enriching and enlightening experience that allowed me the opportunity to tap into parts of my own story that were previously untouched. She has a natural ability as an interviewer by creating a comfortable space of transparency and trust between her and her guests. Her long-term sobriety is not used as a chip on the shoulder, instead-- Elizabeth shows listeners and guests that she is far from perfect by being willing to share her everyday struggles.

I highly recommend listening to Busy Living Sober for alcoholics, addicts, and anybody who seeks to better understand the struggles human beings face on our busy planet.

Talking with Elizabeth Chance is like talking to an old friend you haven't seen in 10 years but you pick right back up where you left off. Elizabeth is INSANELY FUNNY, witty, smart and made an hour long podcast fly by with fun and flowing conversation. Elizabeth needs her own TV show, I could listen to her stories for hours. She is incredibly humble and honest about her sobriety journey but also doesn't require sobriety of others in order to enjoy and appreciate real life connections. I truly enjoyed my time with Elizabeth and I can't wait to visit her in FL when I come down for shows!

Jaime Andrews - she/her actor-writer-producer

Thank you for having me on the show Elizabeth.

I had a great time sharing my personal recovery journey and getting to know you a little better along the way. With people like you, reaching such a wide audience, I am sure there are folks out there who can resonate with our conversation.  And who knows, together we may save a life, help a family, and share hoe with those who believe there is no way out.

I enjoyed our time and look forward to the next.

Thank you again Elizabeth.

Open Perspective

Elizabeth is a dynamic force able to foster candid conversations and explore a variety of perspectives in the sobriety/alcohol free arena. She’s not focused on a single narrative, but opens the door to a range of voices and experiences.

Cheers to this fantastic show which I recommend as a source of inspiration and support.

Real and Honest

Elizabeth inspires me to stay booze free. I have been listening to this podcast for almost 5 years. She is very motivating. She is truly a positive life coach. We are not alone on our journey while listening to Elizabeth. Thank you Elizabeth for all that you give of yourself to your listeners. You help me more than you will ever know. Thank you!!

Dearest Elizabeth,

I am so sorry for the delay in writing to you to thank you for having me on your podcast as a guest. You must think me very rude - but I've been so swamped and underwater that it's been hard to keep up!

Thanksgiving wasn't as much of a rest as I had hoped as I had to catch up on all the ankle-biters that were up to my knees......

But here I am now - and I want to tell you - you are absolutely fabulous!! You put me at ease, you are SO engaging, and I could have talked with you all day long!

I felt you were a kindred spirit. I was so honored that you extended the interview - I mean, it took my breath away. Thank you! I had so many questions I wanted to ask YOU - so some other time I'd love to just have the opportunity to get to know you.

I don't want to lose touch - I'm following you on your channel - but I would love to collaborate with you in the future.

I think of you every day, and I am sending you prayers and blessings,

Be in the Light!

When I was presented with the opportunity to provide a testimonial for Elizabeth Chance, I could barely wait to get onto a computer.

I have known Elizabeth since March of 2021. I was so fortunate as to have found the Morning Hope Group of AA, which was founded by Elizabeth. This group started during the pandemic as an answer to staying sober during a global lockdown. I found sobriety during Covid and the Morning Hope group was my first experience with AA. In August of 2022, I asked Elizabeth if she would be my sponsor. Her nickname is Bizzy, as in "Busy," and she indeed is busy in sobriety.  I worried that she would not have the time to take on another sponsee, but she made the time for me.

For the past two years, Elizabeth has opened my eyes to a completely different way of looking at almost every aspect of my life. Through her sponsorship and the 12 Steps, Elizabeth walked with me through many scary changes I needed to make and to face my internal mirror with courage and grace. I am an Executive Director and my work poses many triggers in terms of my habits for dealing with my character defects. I am a single mother, and with that comes the challenges of raising a teen and managing co-parenting with her father. I am a sister and a daughter who is the glue of my family. Elizabeth has had personal experience in all the same walks of life.  She can guide me professionally. She pushes me to hold uncomfortable work conversations with courage. She holds me to task when I try to run away from professional accountability. She encourages me to push forward toward my professional goals, which I have put on hold due to fear. Elizabeth points me to the 12 Steps when I feel overwhelmed as a mother, and she reminds me that the back and forth between parent and teen is a healthy part of growing up. Elizabeth has helped me come to a place of forgiveness and peace with my ex-husband.  Finally, and most importantly, Elizabeth has introduced me to my Higher Power in a way I never knew.

It is rare to find someone as well-rounded as Elizabeth Chance. She is a powerful and brilliant businesswoman, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a mentor, and a sober leader.  I needed someone who could wear the many hats it takes to be a CEO in my complex life. I know for a fact that God guided me to her. It is now my job to pay forward all the gifts I have received from working with Elizabeth. I only hope I can help someone even half as well as Elizabeth has helped me.

Bizzy is personable, enthusiastic and strategic. She is a powerful resource who can support you through tough transitions, help you develop and implement new game plans as well as keep you motivated through all of life’s fluctuations. Bizzy will keep you on track and she helps you get results! On top of that, Bizzy is always upbeat and sincere. You’ll leave meetings with a glowing smile and feeling confident.

—Emmy Shea, Artist

Bizzy has helped inspire me to think positively, find my happy place, and feel good as a person. She is a true inspiration to mankind.

—Celine U, manager:

Elizabeth calls herself a “life enthusiast” and I can see why. She exudes a very powerful positive vibe that I find infectious. She brings productive energy to all her endeavors and I have learned from her how to bring it to mine. She is truly a joyous soul and it has been a gift to me to be the recipient of her strength and hope.

—John F., business owner:

In our session, Elizabeth provided real life input and well-articulated and concise encouragement and advise that demonstrated not only a clear understanding of my needs, but a genuine and authentic concern for my best interest. I walked away with a messy tissue, a weight off my shoulders, some tough things to think about and a real sense of clear direction and validation. If that isn't the purpose behind her industry I can not fathom what is. This woman has a gift. She understood me like an old friend and I can not wait to work with her again! Highly, HIGHLY recommend!
